China will play their third home game of 2010 FIVB World League against Italy in Wuhan on Friday as the visitors Italy continue to fight for a place in the final round.

China now ranked the last in Pool B with only one win and seven losses. But the team is still expecting further improvements in the following games, team coach Jianan Zhou said at a press conference.

"We have already started to get familiar with the new court which is larger than the previous ones and many injured players are getting better," said Zhou.

China ended their European matches with their first victory over France back on June 19, installing the team with more confidence. The young team also accumulated a great deal of experience from the matches against Serbia, a team at the very top of the World.

"I hope the Chinese national team could improve the level of technique and tactics and win the following matches," Zhou said.

"The following two matches are really important to us, though they maybe really difficult and tough, we will spare our full efforts to win," said Andrea Anastasi, coach of Italy.

Italy, with six wins and two losses, ranked the second in Pool B.
