Saina faces tough match in Indonesia Open

Indian Women's Single (WS) player Saina Nehwal, who was seeded number one by Badminton World Federation (BWF), had to go through tough match against South Korean Ji Hyun Sung that lasted in one hour to qualify in round two match of the ongoing 2010 Indonesia Open badminton championship on Wednesday.

Almost loosing the first and the second game against the rising South Korean WS player in round one match, the 20 year-old Saina Nehwal finally ended the exhausting match in three games with scores of 22-20/17-21 and 21-14.

She will vie Bulgarian player Petya Nedelcheva in round two match after the latter defeated German player Nicole Grether in round one held on Wednesday in Indonesia's landmark badminton stadium Istora Senayan here.

Indonesian rising WS player Maria Febe Kusumastuti secured a match in round two after she defeated Canadian player Charmaine Reid at scores of 21-19/21-5. She will face tough opponent Ella Diehl, a Russian player seeded number 8 in round two.

Meanwhile, the world's No. 1 Mens' Single player from Malaysia Lee Chong Wei trashed Indonesian rookie player Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka in two straight games ended in half an hour with scores of 21-10/21-14.

The Malaysian top player will vie German player Marc Zwiebler in round two.

The annual BWF-sanctioned Indonesia Open badminton championship scheduled to end on June 27, provides total rewards of 250,000 U.S. dollars for the successful players.
