Russia clinched its sixth consecutive win in the 2010 FIVB World League with a 3-1 (25-18, 25-16, 18-25, 25-18) victory over Finland in Kaliningrad on Saturday.
The first set startd with both teams making many mistakes. However the Russians soon found their momentum with their block working well to pick up the set 25-18.
Russia kept the good rhythm to take an early lead in the second set and extended it to 19-12 thanks to a good serve and high tempo of attack before closing the frame 25-16.
In the third set Finland have an excellent performance and Russians were not able to maintain the control of the game playing under pressure. Despite some substitutions made by Russian coach Daniele Bagnoli they lost the set 18-25.
But Russian regained control in the fourth. Finland didn't give up staying close but never came back as the set finished 25-18 to the hosts.
In the other Pool C match, the United States beat Egypt 3-1 (25-20, 25-22, 11-25, 25-14) in Concord, North Carolina, the United Sates.
