The basketball friendly between China and Argentina, which was scheduled on Friday night, was cancelled because a thunderstorm had kept Argentina from arriving in time, the organizers confirmed on Friday.

The match was planned to be held in Ningbo, a coastal city in Zhejiang Province. However, the Argentine men's basketball squad, who were supposed to fly to Ningbo from Beijing on Friday morning, were caught by a thunderstorm in the capital of China, with their flight cancelled along with other 559 flights on June 17.

The organizers had to cancel Friday's match although all the tickets had already been sold out before hand.

According to the organizers, there will not be a rematch as the Chinese national team is set to leave Ningbo on Saturday.
