Myron Allen made the go-ahead three-point play with 32 seconds to go to help Xinjiang Guanghui beat Guangdong Hongyuan 97-94 in Game 4 of the finals of the Chinese Basketball Association league (CBA) in Urumqi Friday evening.

Xinjiang avoided a sweep at home after the victory as Guangdong led the best-of-seven series by 3-1. Game 5 will be played at Dongguan, Guangdong Province on Sunday.

After losing 116-112 in overtime on Thursday, Xinjiang were on the verge of being swept in their second final appearance in two seasons, but bounced back well with a third-quarter surge-up.

The first quarter saw Xinjiang giving all out for a 27-21 lead, but a 9-0 run at the beginning of the second quarter put Guangdong on the track.

Guangdong's outside shooters buried six 3-pointers in the second quarter and had another sharp shooting night on 3-pointer, 15-out-of-34, to take a 53-41 lead on the break.

The visiting team led as many as 15 points on 60-45 before Xinjiang woke up with a 17-3 run to close it by 63-62 and regained the lead by 70-69 in the last quarter.

Neither team could have a clear advantage in the decisive quarter until Allen made the game-winning basket and got foul in the dying minutes.

Charles Gaines led Xinjiang by 31 points while Allen added 15. Zhu Fangyu led Guangdong with 22 points and Smush Parker added 20.
