Qin Kai reaches final of 3m springboard at FINA Diving World Series

Beijing Olympic champion Qin Kai advanced Saturday to the three-meter springboard final at the first stop of the FINA Diving World Series in Qingdao, a coastal city of east China’s Shandong Province.

Qing Kai will vie for the title against German Patrick Hausding, American Troy Dumais, Mexican Castillo Yahel and Canadian Alexander Despatie later on Friday.

Qing, who came first in the semifinal of Group B, got 94.5 points at the third round and snatched the highest score of 500.45 points at the semifinals.

The FINA Diving World Series, which features events of 3m springboard and 10m platform in individual and synchronized, attracts 56 divers from 12 countries and regions.
