While in Brazil for their preparation in hosting the 2010 World Cup, the South African national team announced on Monday that they will have at least two more friendly matches before heading home.

The national team, coached by Brazil’s Carlos Alberto Parreira, will play against Palmeiras and Santos towards the end of March and the beginning of April.

On March 25, the South Africans will play Desportivo Brasil in the city of Sao Paulo. Later, on March 27, the World Cup hosts will play Palmeiras. However, Palmeiras has yet to confirm the match. Finally, on April 3, Santos will host the South Africans.

Parreira and his team also scheduled a match against the Paraguay national soccer team on March 31 in Paraguay’s capital city, Asuncion.

Due to the fact that both Palmeiras and Santos are in the final stretch of the Sao Paulo state championship, the clubs are likely to leave their starting players out of the line-up, giving room for their reserve players to shine.

Thus far, the South Africans have put together 4 victories and 2 draws while training in Brazil for the World Cup. The team’s most impressive victory was against the under-20 Fluminense team, winning by the score of 8-0.
