After scoring two goals in Santos’ 9-1 victory over Ituano, Paulo Henrique Ganso declared on Monday that he deserves a spot on the Brazilian national soccer team in the 2010 World Cup.
Ganso’s head coach, Dorival Junior, supported the athlete and claimed he was ready to play on the world’s largest stage of soccer.
Despite the fact that Brazil will not have another friendly match before the World Cup kicks off, Ganso believes that he may be a welcome surprise to the national team.
Dunga, the Brazilian national team’s head coach, previously declared that the list of players to make the cut for the World Cup in almost complete.
“I know that the chances are slim, but I have not lost hope. I am prepared to play. Who knows, I may be a surprise addition to the national team. It has always been a dream of mine to wear the Brazilian national team’s jersey. I am currently playing my best soccer of my career,” said Paulo Henrique Ganso, who scored seven goals this year for Santos.
According to Dorvial Junior, the talented midfielder is just as effective with the ball as he is without the ball. The coach added that his striker Neymar is also ready to assume the responsibility of defending Brazil in the World Cup. He claims that both athletes are among the best in Brazil.
