Brazilian Ronaldo announces retirement date

Brazilian Ronaldo announced on Monday his decision of leaving the football field at the end of 2011, when his contract with Brazilian club Corinthians would be expired.

"I renewed my contract for two more years and those will be the last of my career. I want to give all to enjoy it and I hope to finish with important conquers, like the Libertadores Cup," Ronaldo said at a press conference in Sao Paulo.

Ronaldo said that he will finish his career as football player in Brazilian fields.

Ronaldo, 33 years old, who has played in Europe for the Spanish clubs Barcelona and Real Madrid, and the Italian clubs Inter de Milan and Milan, said that he will continue tied to be as "ambassador" of the club Corinthians to the world.

"The fans that follow us is very passionate. And every time I am more in love with this club," Ronaldo, who started playing for Corinthians in 2008, said.

Ronaldo, who is the greatest goal maker in World Cups, after having scored 15 goals, said that he still dreams of playing his fifth World Cup.

"About the World Cup, we have to see. Still I have possibilities of playing the next one," Ronaldo said. However he has not been summoned yet by the current coach of the national team Carlos Verri Dunga.
