More than 10 thousand Peruvian fans are visiting the FIFA World Cup, which is displayed on Thursday at the Exhibition Park of Lima, in Peru.
It is the first time that the FIFA World Cup visits Peru as a part of the "FIFA World Cup trophy tour" around 83 countries and regions all over the world before its final arrival to South Africa, host of World Cup this summer.
The ceremony, which began at 10:00 local time (15:00 GMT), was organized by Coca Cola and has been considered as an extraordinary event in the country by local media.
Through various activities such as computer games, kick on goal, choreography and photos with Zakumi, the South Africa's pet, the Peruvian fans are welcomed into a huge dome-shaped ball before going to the trophy exhibition.
After a short time, fans are invited to go to the room where a 3D screen displays a summary of all World cups since the FIFA World Cup started to be used as maximun award.
Finally, in the third room, guests are invited to appreciate the FIFA World Cup as a reward of their efforts, and they have the opportunity of taking a picture with the trophy.
The trophy arrived in Peru on February 16 as part of its world tour, being received and lifted up by Peruvian President Alan Garcia at the Government Palace in Lima. The president also dressed up the trophy with a "chullo" (symbol of Peru), for the joy of peruvian people. Garcia also became the first Peruvian to lift up the FIFA World Cup.
The exhibition will last until 8:00 local time (1:00 GMT) today in Peru, and then it will be going to Venezuela, the last South American destination.
