World champion China lost to Britain 4-5 in the morning session before they beat Switzerland 8-6 in women's curling at the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games on Wednesday.
In the match against Britain, China scored two points in the 10th to force an extra end before losing 5-4 to Britain. While in the afternoon session, China beat Switzerland 8-6.
Defending gold medalist Sweden needed an extra end to defeat Denmark 8-7 in the morning and beat Britain 6-4 in the evening. Sweden sits atop the women's standings, having won each of its first three matches. Canada and Germany are also unbeaten, having won their first two.
In other women's matches, Germany edged the United States 6-5 in the morning session and Russia beat Denmark 7-3 in the evening.
In men's play, Sweden beat Germany 6-3, and the Swiss edged the United States 7-6.
Sweden, Switzerland and Canada, which had the day off after winning twice on Tuesday, are the only teams to win their first pair of games in the men's draw.
In other men's matches, Britain beat France 9-4 and China defeated Denmark 8-1.
