New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul will be out for four to six weeks of the NBA season after he had arthroscopic surgery on his knee on Thursday.
Paul will also miss the February 14 all-star game at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas.
Paul was injured on January 27 against Golden State, then aggravated the injury when he crashed into a camera while chasing down a wayward pass in a game two days later.
Paul averages a team-high 20.4 points and an NBA-best 11.2 assists.
The Hornets are two games out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference standings.
