Belarus won the sixth "Belarussian Presidential Award" for international ice hockey fan contest on Thursday.
The host country beat Russia 8-4 in the final to reclaim the title, the fifth one it has won over the past games. Finland took the third place. Moscow defeated Minsk only for once at the tournament.
The ice hockey fan contest that kicked off on Tuesday in Minsk was said by Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko as having promoted his country's successful bid for the 2014 ice hockey world championships.
Every year on the eve of the Orthodox Christmas on Jan. 7, Belarus will host the enthusiast contest for ice hockey. This year the contest attracted teams from Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, Slovakia and Canada.
