Henan rowing team has announced to withdraw from the 11th National Games to reveal its determination in the fight against doping.
Han Wei, leader of the team, said Monday, "We have been informed by Henan sports delegation for the games that both our men's and women's rowing teams should not continue our trip in the games."
"It reveals our attitude against doping. We do not need any medals with doping," he said.
Guo Linna, a woman rower from Henan, was tested positive for 19-norandrostenedione and was expelled from the games. Henan team was stripped of the rowing semifinal in lightweight women's double sculls and lightweight women's quadruple sculls, the organizers of the games announced Sunday.
Henan sent about 30 rowers to take part in the on-going 11th National Games.
