Nigeria's Super Eagles' hope of winning the World Cup ticket to South Africa next year came alive after beating Mozambique 1-0 in their group B match at the Abuja National Stadium on Sunday.

Striker Obinna Nsofor late goal revived Nigeria's qualification chances to South Africa.

The result keeps Tunisia two points ahead of Nigeria, which means that the North Africans stay in the driving seat for World Cup qualification, while the Super Eagles are on a wing and a prayer.

The Super Eagles will depend on the other result in Group B when the last round of matches is played next month.

Last month, Nigeria was held to a 2-2 draw by Tunisia at the Abuja National Stadium, compromising the Super Eagles chances of qualifying for next year's World Cup in South Africa.

The match was watched by an empty stadium as the match did not attract any cards.
