Shawn Marion of the Dallas Mavericks is hoping his teammate Jason Kidd can turn him into an NBA All-Star again, media reported Tuesday.
Kidd was the point guard who helped break Marion into the league with the Phoenix Suns in 1999-2000. They spent two years together, then Kidd moved on while Marion blossomed into a four-time All-Star with the Suns.
Now they are reunited with the Dallas Mavericks. They were together as teammates of Mavericks for the first time Monday at a news conference. They will hit the practice floor together soon in preparation for the start of NBA training camp next week.
Kidd said he's looking forward to having Marion snatch rebounds and then get out on the fast break.
