Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso is a major injury worry for his club this Wednesday.
The former Liverpool player had to leave the pitch after just 10 minutes of the second half of Real's 5-2 Champions League win away to FC Zurich on Tuesday night.
Alonso mistimed a tackle and had to be carried off the pitch after 55 minutes.
He has a heavy blow on the back of his calf muscle and inflammation on his Achilles tendon.
The club now has to wait until the inflammation and swelling in the area has died down, before carrying out further tests.
With Alonso off the pitch, Zurich pulled the score back to 3-2 and was close to leveling the match before two late Real goals gave the final score a more comfortable look.
