Phelps breaks world record in 100m fly

American Michael Phelps broke the men's 100m butterfly world record and beat Serbia's Milorad Cavic for gold at the world swimming championships on Friday.

The American clocked 49.82 seconds to beat the previous record holder into second. Spain's Rafael Munoz was third.
