A Danish soccer player was struck by a lightening and in coma on Monday.
FC Nordsjaelland defender Jonathan Richter was struck during a brief thunder storm Monday while playing against second-tier team Hvidovre, and was unconscious when he was taken away in an ambulance.
Police said the 24-year-old Richter was in a coma.
FC Nordsjaelland tops the Danish league after beating defending champion FC Copenhagen 2-0 in the first round on Saturday. Richter, who joined the club in 2005, came on as a substitute in the second half.
