World swimming governing body FINA announced Saturday that Dubai will host the 2013 world championships.
The Middle East city beat fellow candidate cities Moscow and Hamburg to gain the right after a vote by the 21-member FINA Bureau in Rome.
The date of the Dubai edition has yet to be decided.
The 2009 world championships began in Rome on Friday, while the 2011 edition will be held in the Chinese city of Shanghai.
Other Cities, including Hong Kong and Madrid, had bid for the 2013 tournament but failed to make it into the final candidates list.
