Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei lived up to his world No. 1 ranking on Sunday when he beat Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia in straight sets to win the men's singles title at the Indonesia Open.
Lee, the 2007 Indonesia Open champion, grabbed the 21-9, 21-14 victory in just half an hour and pocked the 18,750-dollar prize.
"Before the match, I was focusing myself to win. After my victory I am confident to face the next tournament," Lee said after the final.
Taufik admitted that Lee was superior to him.
"He has all the bests that I could not overcome it. He had demonstrated his excellent playing strategies in the match. He and Lin Dan would dominate international badminton tournaments this year," said Taufik.
