Austrian swimmer Mirna Jukic, bronze medalist of women's 100m breaststroke at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, created a new European 200m breaststroke record on Saturday in Vienna.

In the women's 200-meter breaststroke competition at the Strock-Austria-Meeting in Vienna, Jukic improved the best record in Europe by 0.45 seconds, with a final result of 2 minutes and 22 seconds 46.
Nevertheless, her result still has a gap of 2 seconds 24 from the world record set by American swimmer Rebecca Soni at the Beijing Olympics.
In the women's 100-meter breaststroke competition on Friday, the 23-year-old Jukic got the result of 1 minute and 07 seconds 00, improving her Olympic bronze medal performance by 0.34 seconds.
Jukic was honored as Austria's athlete of the year in 2002 and 2008.
