Retired French international Zinedine Zidane has given his consent to play a charity match in Sichuan a year after the earthquake.
The match will be played in June-end with funds from the event to be donated for quake relief, the Oriental Morning Post reported yesterday.
Former Real defender Manuel Sanchis told a Spanish radio that Madrid greats Fernando Redondo and Fernando Ruiz Hierro have also agreed to participate in the charity event.
Officials from Real Madrid Foundation and Zidane and Friends will meet a Chinese delegation, which is expected to arrive in Madrid this weekend, to chart out the details for the exhibition match.
Zidane has previously served as a charity ambassador for the United Nations Development Program.
