German Antoine Hey has been appointed Kenya's new coach for the final stage of 2010 World Cup qualifying on Wednesday.

Kenya's opening match in the final stage of African qualifiers is at home to Tunisia on March 28. Nigeria and Mozambique are also in the group.

"I can promise you that I will do everything from my side to deliver the results that Kenyans are expecting," Hey told journalists in Nairobi.

"There are many issues in Kenya football and I'll try to find a solution and start as early as next week," added Hey, a former Schalke player.

Hey previously coached Liberia but the West African nation failed to make it to the next round of qualifying after finishing bottom of their group. He replaces Francis Kimanzi who was sacked last month.
