Though Russian Aleksandr Dobroskok was unhappy with his bronze medal on the men's three-meter synchronized at the 15th FINA Diving Grand Prix on Saturday, he smiled when he received a box of chocolate as a gift on the Valentine's Day.

Dobroskok, gold medalist at both 3m springboard individual and synchro at the world championships in 2003, came to third with fellow Sergey Nazin in 407.19 points.

Beijing Olympic champion Qin Kai and his new partner Zhang Xinhua edged their teammates Tang Shaoyun/Xu Chengliang by 1.86 to win the title in 457.08.

Dobroskok said: "I didn't perform my best today, but I'm happy to have the chocolate as a gift for the Valentine's Day."

Since it was the first international diving event of 2009, only 47 divers from Georgia, Malaysia, Russia, Hong Kong of China, Macau of China and host China have competed in the Grand Prix.

"I felt too hurry and little bit tired during the competition, because we have only six pairs in the event. It's hard to have time to rest and get ready in between," Dobroskok said.

Chen Ruolin, who won the women's 10m platform Friday night, grabbed her second title in the synchro with Kang Li, winning in 362.04, ahead of fellows Xu Zhihuan/Feng Linghui and Pandelela Rinong/Traisy Vivian of Malaysia.

The 16-year-old Chen, winner of both platform events at Beijing Olympic Games, said: "I'm surprised to have chocolate today besides the gold medal."

The three-day 15th FINA Diving Grand Prix 2009 in Shenzhen started on Feb. 13.
