Hindu devotees celebrate Janai Purnima festival in Nepal

Nepalese Hindu devotees receive sacred threads around their wrists from priests during the Janai Purnima festival in the Kumbheswor Temple, on the outskirt of Katmandu, capital of Nepal, Aug. 5, 2009. Hindus in Nepal observed Janai Purnima, also known as "Rishi Tarpani" festival on Wednesday. During the festival people have the "Rakshya Bandhan" thread tied around the wrist.
