On June 15, the public were able to photograph a replica bronze of "The dragon head". An exhibition of replicas of the "Twelve animal sculptures from the Yuan Ming Yuan" (the Old Summer Palace) and the "Twelve bronze human-animal therianthropes" opened in Zhonghua Square in Guangzhou. Following its opening at Changlong Hotel in Guangzhou, the exhibition will last until June 21. The year 2009 marks the 250th anniversary of the creation of the twelve Yuan Ming Yuan animal sculptures. Over a period of four years, experts in cultural relics and master craftsmen from the Yuan Ming Yuan management team have produced replicas of the full sets of "Twelve animal sculptures" and "Twelve bronze human-animal therianthropes" based on historical documents and surviving relics, drawing public attention to the importance of the protection of historical and cultural relics.
