CHINA-SICHUAN-GULIN-DROUGHT (CN)

A farmer squats on the dry ground in Tuanjie Village of Gulin County, southwest China's Sichuan Province, Aug. 18, 2011. The drought in the county has left nearly 168,000 people and 101,000 livestock in short of drinking water, affected 38,360 hectares of farm field and caused direct economic losses of 162.56 million yuan (about 25.45 million U.S. dollars).
