A bevy of aigrettes fly over the Poyang Lake in Jiujiang, east China's Jiangxi Province, May 30, 2011. Recent rainfalls and increased water discharges by the Three Gorges Reservoir have helped stop the shrinking of Poyang, the largest freshwater lake in China, and relieve the drought that parched the regions along the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Latest monitoring records show that Poyang's water space has grown to 1,531 square kilometers. [Xinhua/Hu Guolin]
