Spain secured a place in the bronze medal match after drawing with the Republic of Korea (ROK) 2-2 in the Paralympic Football 5-a-Side tournament on Monday, September 15.
Antonio Jesus Martin, who is nicknamed 'El Niño', put Spain ahead by one goal after 31 minutes.
The ROK fought back and scored an equalizer through Kim Kyung-ho.
Martin scored a second goal and restored Spain's lead.
The ROK scored an unlikely equalizer after goalkeeper Jose Manuel Gomez failed to stop an easy shot taken by Lee Jin-won.
With this result, Spain is reassured of a place in the bronze medal match where it will face Argentina (unless China beat Brazil by a margin of five or more goals). The ROK will play for fifth place against Great Britain, who beat the ROK in the preliminary round. Both matches will be played on Wednesday, September 17.
