Archery Day 5 Preview: World class archery expected in semifinals

Top class archery is expected at the Olympic Green Archery Field on Saturday, as the best archers take on each other in their quest for gold.

Women's Individual Compound - Open semifinal

The first semifinal is an all English affair, with top seed and World Record holder Danielle Brown taking on Mel Clarke, both from Great Britain.

Both archers have been in good form, crushing all competition that's come their way.

In the second semifinal, Turkey's Gulbin Su will take on Kamiya Chieko of Japan. Third seeded Su has been in good form in the tournament beating Christin Ann-Nilsson of Sweden, 112-102 in the quarterfinal.

The gold medal, as well as the bronze medal matches will take place on Saturday.

Women's Individual Recurve - Standing semifinal

Malgorzata Olejnik of Poland will take on China's Gao Fangxia in the first semifinal in the category. Olejnik beat Brigitte Duboc of France in the quarterfinal and Gao beat Anna Tzika of Greece to make the semifinal.

Top seeded Lee Hwa-sook of the Republic of Korea will play Lindsey Carmichael of the United States in the semifinal. Lee beat Eliane Otten-Salden of the Netherlands in the quarterfinal and Carmichael edged out Kim Ki-hee from the Republic of Korea.

The gold medal, as well as the bronze medal matches will take place on Saturday.

Women's Individual Recurve - W1/W2 semifinal

Gizem Girismen of Turkey will be up against China's Xiao Yanhong in the first semifinal. Girismen beat Roksolana Dzoba of Ukraine in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Where as Xiao beat Japan's Saitoh Ayako in the quarterfinals.
