In the Men's 200m Individual Medley--SM9, Matthew Cowdrey of Australia defended his title not only in winning the gold but also setting a new world record of 2:13.60. Andriy Kalyna of Ukraine also repeated his performance from the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games, claiming silver in 2:17.21. Cody Bureau of the US team won bronze in 2:20.21.
Defending champion Natalie Du Toit of South Africa won her third gold of the Games in the Women's 200m Individual Medley--SM9, also breaking the world record in 2:27.83. Silver medalist in Athens 2004 in this event, Stephanie Dixon of Canada replicated the second position in swimming in 2:37.54.
In the Men's 400m Freestyle --S11, Enhamed Enhamed of Spain won his second gold in the competition in 4:38.32. Although USA's John Morgan's 16-year Paralympic record of 4:20.83 set in the Barcelona 1992 Paralympic Games is safe for another four years.
Sergei Punko of Belarus defended his title in the Men's 400m Freestyle-S12, claiming gold and setting a world record of 4:08.64.
In the Men's 200m Individual Medley--SM10, Rick Pendleton of Australia won the gold and set a world record of 2:12.78. Andre Brasil of Brazil qualified in sixth place for the Final, but managed to finish second to claim Silver in 2:14.20 and defending champion Benoit Huot of Canada took bronze in 2:15.22.
Sophie Pascoe of New Zealand now has two golds and one silver in the Beijing Games, as she finished first in 2:35.21 the Women's 200m Individual Medley--SM10.
An electrifying final in the Men's 4x50m Freestyle Relay-20pts revealed the Chinese team as the gold medalist, in a world record time of 2:18.15. Spain took silver in 2:18.73 and Brazil won bronze in 2:30.17.
