The top seeds in most categories go head-to-head in the 1-8 elimination round and quarterfinal of the Archery competition on Thursday September 10, at the Olympic Green Archery Field.
In the 1-8 Elimination Round of Men's Individual Recurve W1/W2, top seed Taras Chopyk of Ukraine will take on Turkey's Ozgur Ozen.
After an outstanding display in the ranking round, Chopyk will be confident of a good performance. Earlier Ozen beat Spain's Manuel Candela 96-87.
The match between Kim Hong-kyu of the Republic of Korea and Piotr Sawicki of Poland is also expected to be close. Kim finished second in the ranking round on Tuesday, and Sawicki beat Thailand's Sathien Phimthong in the earlier round.
In the other matches Lee Hong-gu of the Republic of Korea will take on Stephane Gilbert of France, while China's Cheng Changjie will play Zulkifli Zin Mat of Malaysia.
The match between the defending Paralympic Champion Imrich Lyocsa of Slovakia and Japan's Takahiro Hasegawa of Japan is the highlight of the 1-8 elimination round of Men's Individual Recurve – Standing.
Lyocsa beat Serhiy Atamanenko of Ukraine, 95-73, to qualify for the 1-8 elimination round, while Hasegawa received a bye in the earlier round.
Top seed Mario Esposito of Italy will play An Tae-sung of the Republic of Korea in what promises to be a close encounter.
In the other matches, pre-competition favorite Dong Zhi of China will play Poland's Tomasz Lezanski, and Cho Hyun-kwan of the Republic of Korea will take on Fabrice Meunier of France.
In Men's Individual Compound - Open (1-8 Elimination Round), top seed and world record holder John Stubbs of Great Britain will take on Eric Bennett of the United States of America. On Wednesday Bennett beat the Republic of Korea's Kweon Hyun-ju in a shoot out, after both archers were tied on 106 points each.
Pre-competition favorite Kevin Evans of Canada takes on Pavlo Nazar of Ukraine, who finished ninth in the ranking round on Tuesday.
In other matches, second seed Lee Ouk-soo of the Republic of Korea will take on Alberto Simonelli of Italy and Fred Stevens of Great Britain will play TJ Pemberton of the United States.
The encounter between top seed and world record holder Xiao Yanhong of China and Germany's Maria Droste will be the highlight of the 1-8 elimination round in Women's Individual Recurve W1/W2.
Droste edged out Miroslava Cerna of the Czech Republic in a closely fought match on Wednesday.
Also, second seed Fu Hongzhi of China will take on veteran British archer Kathleen Critchlow-Smith and pre-competition favorite Gizem Girismen of Turkey faces Lenka Kuncova of the Czech Republic.
In Women's Individual Recurve - Standing (1-8 Elimination Round), top seed and world record holder Lee Hwa-sook of the Republic of Korea will battle against China's Yan Huilian of China. Yan beat Poland's Alicja Bukanska, 98-96, in the 1-16 elimination round on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Lindsey Carmichael of the United States will take on Magali Comte of Switzerland. Carmichael beat defending Paralympic champion Wang Yanhong of China in the earlier round.
Other notable encounters include second seed Gao Fangxia of China taking on Great Britain's Kay Lucas while Kim Ran-sook of the Republic of Korea is up against Malgorzata Olejnik of Poland.
Top seed and world record holder Danielle Brown of Great Britain will clash with China's Wang Li in the Women's Individual Compound - Open Quarterfinals.
Brown broke the world record on Tuesday in the ranking round and will be looking to capitalize on her good form. Wang is seeded eighth in the competition.
Fourth seeded Mel Clarke of Great Britain will take on her team-mate Pippa Britton in the other quarterfinal. The encounter is expected to be an exciting one, with both archers in good form.
In the other two quarterfinals, Gulbin Su of Turkey will take on Christin-Ann Nilsson of Sweden and Zandra Reppe of Sweden will play Kamiya Chieko of Japan.
