The Archery competition of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games will be held at Olympic Green Archery Field from September 9 to 15. Here are some useful facts and figures:
* Only one discipline: Outdoor Target Archery
* Archery was first included in the Paralympic Games in Rome in 1960
* The grades (ARST, ARW1, ARW2) classify archers according to their disability
* 1.2 meters is the diameter of the target
* 10 is the number of concentric circles on the target
* 10 is the number of points an archer gets for hitting the center ring
* 14 competition sessions will be held
* Nine sets of medals will be awarded
* 28 National Paralympic Committees (NPC) are competing
* 4 NPCs have only 1 archer
* 13 archers come from the Republic of Korea, forming the largest team
* 134 archers will compete: 87 male and 47 female archers
* 19-year-old Hasegava Takahiro of Japan is the youngest male archer
* 16-year-old Katharina Schett of Germany is the youngest female archer
* 66-year-old Naganuma Tsunehiko of Japan is the oldest male archer
* 60-year-old Kate Murray of Great Britain is the oldest female archer
* 70 meters is the shooting distance
* 72 arrows will be shot by each archer in the ranking round
* Three archers will be on each team for the Team Recurve Open competition
* The Individual Compound Open category is being contested in the Paralympic Games for the first time.
