Dazzling fireworks to shine at Saturday's Paralympics opening
Adjust font size:

Dazzling fireworks will be set off during the Paralympics opening on Saturday evening, local media reported, citing organizers.

The fireworks will present the image of "the universe" and also the emblem of the Paralympics, the Beijing Times reports on Saturday.

Fireworks, mainly gold, will appear at key moments such as when Paralympians parade into the Bird's Nest National Stadium, Zhao Weiping, who is in charge of fireworks for the ceremony, told the newspaper.

The fireworks would form the images of numbers, geometrical patterns like trapezoids and pyramids, and "dazzling" paths, Zhao said.

"The air at the Bird's Nest will not be affected. The fireworks are pollution-free and there will not be any waste or residue afterwards," Zhang added.
