In Canada, Chinese students have gathered in front of Parliament Hill in Ottawa to show their support for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. They were expressing their condemnation for separatist activities recklessly advocating independence for Tibet. Many students and local residents expressed their anger over secessionist-related activities and attempts to link the Olympic Games in Beijing with the unrelated Tibet issue.
