Thursday's torch relay would end at the Temple of Earth (Di Tan) at around 6:06 p.m. and the final torchbearer is Song Zuying, one of the most famous Chinese ballad singer.
On the first day of the torch relay, the final stop of the 16.4-km route was the landmark Temple of Heaven (Tian Tan).
With the two destinations, design of the routes embodied the Chinese culture. In the Chinese philosophy, Tian is mentioned in relationship to its complementary aspect of Di. These two aspects are thought to maintain the two poles of the Three Realms of reality, with the middle realm occupied by Humanity.
The Olympic flame would travel in the host city for three days, involving a total of 841 torchbearers, before the flame will light the cauldron at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Games on Friday night.
After being lit at the birthplace of the Olympic Games in Olympia, Greece on March 24, the 2008 Olympics torch traveled to Beijing on March 31 for a ceremonial kick-off of its global trip.
Under the theme "Journey of Harmony," the relay lasted 129 days and took the torch 137,000 km through six continents, the longest distance of any Olympic torch relay since the tradition started at the 1936 Berlin Games.
