The Olympic torch relay continues its domestic tour. It has just wrapped up its latest leg in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China's Liaoning province.
Liu Hongtu, a college professor, was the first torchbearer. His father, Liu Changchun, was the first Chinese athlete to participate in the Olympic Games in 1932.
A total of 241 torchbearers passed the torch along a 10.4-kilometer route.
The actor Zhao Benshan also took party in the relay.
A local official, Su Hongzhang, lit the cauldron ending the first leg of the torch's journey in Liaoning. The torch will next head to Anshan.
