The sacred flame of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games has arrived in Canberra kicking off the 15th leg of its journey around the world. Australian officials say they are fully prepared for the event and will not allow any disruption during the relay.

Ron Harvey, the vice president of the Australian Olympic Committee, said the Olympic flame represents harmony and peace. Harvey will lead a strong team of Australian athletes to compete at the Beijing Games.
The Canberra City Government also says they're paying close attention to the event and have made adequate preparations.
Meanwhile, the local police has pledged to make every effort to ensure the safety of the relay.
The Canberra City Government has launched an extensive advertising campaign to encourage all city resident to watch the torch relay on April 24th and to enjoy the performances and celebrations accompanying the relay.
