As the torch's global relay continues, residents of Lhasa in Tibet Autonomous Region are also preparing to welcome the flame's arrival.

A set of stamps depicting the torch relay of the 29th Olympic Games has been published. Many people in Lhasa have shown an interest.

Lhasa resident Yu Dong said, "I want to buy one to collect. The relay of the Olympic flame is a historic moment and worth remembering forever. We are looking forward to seeing the torch in Lhasa as soon as possible."

Besides the stamps, people have also taken a liking to other Olympic souvenirs such as the Fuwa mascot and special badges.

Lhasa resident Ngawang Dainzin said, "I like the Fuwa Ying Ying, which represents the Tibet Plateau, because it has the strongest Tibetan characteristics."

Shop owner Gao Wei said, "Many customers have ordered an Olympic torch replica. It will be very popular when the flame arrives in Lhasa."

The torch's ascent up Mount Qomolangma is another hot topic for Tibetan people. Painba Zhaxi is a famous mountain climber. He said for China to host the Olympic Games is his dream.

Tibetan mountain climber Painba Zhaxi said, "The young generation of mountain climbers will successfully transfer the Olympic flame to the top of Mount Qomolangma. This has been our dream for generations."

All departments of Tibet Autonomous Region have been preparing for the arrival of the torch. The public are being encouraged to submit lyrics of songs to welcome the flame and every effort is being made to ensure the smooth operation of technology and communication.
