Water was poured into the swimming pools in the National Aquatics Center, or the Water Cube, on Wednesday.

The main construction has been finished and the inner decoration work is in the closing stage, reported China News Service.

The center will open to the public later this month when the week-long China Swimming Open, one of the test events before the Beijing Olympic Games, is to be held there.
