Indonesia on Friday hailed the Beijing Olympic Games that will be opened on Friday evening, expecting the international games to be successful, the foreign ministry said in Jakarta Friday.

"We hope this Olympic can succeed. We believe that the government of China has prepared everything well," spokesman of the ministry Teuku Faizasyah said.

The game is to be held from August 8 to 24.

The spokesman expected the games would be fair and the competing athletes could get maximal achievements.

"With the spirit of sportsmanship we expect much that the new records could be created during the international games," he said.

Twenty four Indonesian athletes are to compete in seven games at the Olympic, including badminton, weightlifting, windsurfing, shooting, swimming, field and track.

"For our athletes, we hope they can bring the fair name of our country in the international games. Hopefully they can get medals, " said Faizasyah.

Previously Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has said that he expected the Indonesian athletes to achieve good achievements in the Beijing Olympic.
