Bulgarian president to attend Olympics

Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov will attend the Beijing Olympics and watch some of the competitions during the Games, said Bulgaria's Olympic Committee chief on Wednesday.

Stevka Kostadinova made the announcement when he left for Beijing.

He said President Parvanov would be present at those events where Bulgarian athletes stand good chance to win medals.

Bulgaria sent a delegation of 72 athletes to the Beijing Olympics to compete in 15 events.
