The first batch of the Chinese Taipei Olympic delegation, the seven-member weightlifting team, arrived in Beijing on Thursday afternoon.

The team comprises five athletes and two coaches. Head coach Zhang Jiamin said at the airport that no medal target was set for his team at the Beijing Olympics.

"The best result of the five weightlifters was the 13th finish in men's 62kg class at the 2007 world championships," he added.

According to an official from the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee, the 133-strong Chinese Taipei Olympic delegation includes 80 athletes, and most of them will arrive in Beijing on August 3. The most eye-catching Chinese Taipei baseball team is scheduled to come on August 10.

Chinese Taipei collected two gold, two silver and one bronze medals at the Athens Olympics, ending their Olympic gold drought and standing at the 31st on the medal tally.

In Beijing, Chinese Taipei set their medal hope on taekwondo, archery, baseball and softball.
