Canada will send 29 athletes to Beijing Olympics, Athletics Canada announced Monday at the end of Olympic trials over the past weekend.
The names will be forwarded to the Canadian Olympic Committee as nominations, but it is expected that all of the names on the list will be accepted.
Athletics Canada said in a statement released Monday that they are aiming for two athletics medals at the Olympics. This is the same number of medals won at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka.
Tyler Christopher and Gary Reed are among those who carry the hopes of winning medals for the team. Perdita Felicien, who won silver in the women's 100 meters hurdles in Osaka, is also expected to win a medal for Canada. But it is not confirmed whether she will go to Beijing due to her injury.
The Canadian Olympic Committee will announce the final list on July 22.
