The athletes of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) were training hard for winning more medals in the Beijing Olympic Games, said the lasted edition of the Naenara (Today's Korea) monthly.
The core task for the DPRK sports departments was taking part in the Beijing Olympic Games and winning more medals in it, said the Naenara.
The country gave more funds to the sports departments and the athletes were making active efforts to improve their performance, it added.
The report pointed out the DPRK women football team, saying they vowed to "show their strength" in the Games.
Kye Sun Hui, a famous woman judoka who had won gold medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, will take part in the 57kg category in Beijing. Her coach said that she was sure to win in Beijing, said the report.
The 29th Olympic Games will start in Beijing on August 8.
