Indonesia will send four men's weightlifters to the Beijing Olympics with a modest target to win a silver medal, an official said Friday.
The number of lifters is based on the governing quota for the country, said Alamsyah Wijaya, secretary general of the Indonesian Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Association (PABBSI).
The four lifters include Eko Yuli Irawan, the 2007 junior world champion in Prague, for the 65-kg class, Triyatno (62 kg), Edi Kurniawan (69 kg) and Sandou Weldem (77 kg).
They will undergo intensive training in Japan from April 24.
"They will be staying there for six days to polish their technique and increase experience in competition with world-class athletes," Wijaya was quoted by the national Antara news agency as saying in the Central Java capital of Semarang.
The association expects Irawan to bring home at least a silver medal, he said.
