Chinese Cao Lei on the women's 75kg weightlifting gold medal at the Beijing Olympic Games in Beijing on Friday.

Cao lifted 128kgs in snatch and 154kgs in clean and jerk for a winning two-lift total of 282 kgs, with all three marks registering new Olympic records.

Kazakhstan's Alla Vazhenina got the silver medal in 266kgs, and Russian Nadezda Evstyukhina had the bronze in 264kgs.
