German cyclist Bert Grabsch believes he has the ability to win a medal at the road race time trial in the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games.
"A medal would be a dream. My goal is firm, a place in the top six, " Bert Grabsch said on his blog on Tuesday.
The Beijing course is expected to suit Grabsch's strong point, with a 46-kilometer hilly circuit.
"On the ascents I will give everything I have, on the descents I can rest a bit," said the 33-year German, who just won the time trial of the Sachsen Tour.
"With this win I jumped onto the Olympic train heading to Beijing. My whole family is proud of me," he noted. "I am looking forward to Beijing, " he added.
He will also ride the road race, but only for a preparation and to help his team-mates Schumacher, Jens Voigt, Fabian Wegmann and Gerald Ciolek.
The men's Olympic road race will be held on Aug. 9, one day after the opening ceremony, and the time trial will take place on Aug. 13.
