Denmark tennis ace Wozniacki takes Stockholm title
Adjust font size:

Danish teen tennis sensation Caroline Wozniacki geared up for the Olympic Games by crushing her opponent in the Nordic Light Open final last Sunday, according to Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter (DN).

Wozniacki will march into the Olympic Games this week, reported DN on Monday, adding that it's on the heels of an easy 6-0, 6-2 win Sunday over 53rd-ranked Vera Dushevina in the final of the Nordic Light Open, held in Swedish capital Stoclholm.

The Danish online newspapaer The Copenhagen Post said although the Dane's victory may have been less statistically impressive than her 6-4, 6-1 semifinal defeat of the tournament's top-ranked player, Agnieszka Radwanska, Wozniacki said the win was crucial for going into the Olympic team play in Beijing this week.

"It definitely gives me more confidence for the Olympic Games, but everything depends on the draw," Wozniacki told The Copenhagen Post.
